Wärtsilä 32 Valve Tappet
Product Description
The valve tappet on the Wärtsilä 32 is of the piston type with a self-adjusting roller follower, spreading the contact pressure against the cam evenly across the roller face instead of concentrating it at a single point. Combined with the valve springs, this keeps the valve mechanism dynamically stable.
A distinctive feature of this engine is that the leak-off fuel return pipe is integrated directly into the tappet housing; wear or leakage at the tappet can therefore affect not only valve actuation but potentially the leak-off fuel drainage as well. An uneven rolling pattern is usually the first sign that the self-adjustment is no longer working optimally.
Toes Group supplies valve tappets for the Wärtsilä 32 for all configurations, new and reconditioned, checked on the roller follower and the condition of the housing including the leak-off fuel passage.
