Product Description
The connecting rod of the Wärtsilä 32 is forged from alloy steel and built up in three parts, a design that allows a low dismantling height and lets the piston be removed without opening the big end bearing. All connecting rod studs are hydraulically tightened.
A bore through the connecting rod carries oil to the gudgeon pin bearing and the piston; if this bore becomes fouled or damaged, it often only becomes visible as wear on the piston itself, well away from the actual source of the problem. During reconditioning we therefore check the oil passage just as closely as the condition of the bearing bushes.
Toes Group has connecting rods for the Wärtsilä 32 available for both the in-line and V-configurations, new and reconditioned. Every rod is checked for cracks and for the dimensional accuracy of all three sections.
