Product Description
The Wärtsilä 32 runs on two fully separate cooling circuits: the HT circuit cools the cylinder liners, cylinder heads and the first stage of the charge air cooler, while the LT circuit cools the second stage of the charge air cooler and the lubricating oil. Each circuit needs its own engine-driven cooling water pump to maintain the correct temperature and pressure.
Because the two circuits serve different temperature bands, a decline in one pump's output doesn't always show up immediately: the HT circuit may still perform adequately while the LT circuit is already losing capacity, resulting in a rising charge air temperature. Periodic inspection of both pumps separately is therefore advisable.
