Product Description
The charge air on the Wärtsilä 32 passes through a two-stage air cooler: the first stage removes heat via the HT cooling water circuit, while the second and final stage uses the LT circuit to fine-tune the outlet temperature. This arrangement keeps the charge air temperature precisely within the required range, even under varying load.
Because cooling takes place in two stages, fouling of just one of them can be enough to raise the final outlet temperature without this immediately being recognised as a fault. A gradual rise in charge air temperature at constant load is therefore an early signal to have the cooler cleaned or inspected.
