Wärtsilä 34 Valve Tappet
Product Description
Because the cylinder head of the Wärtsilä 34 actuates two inlet and two exhaust valves per cylinder, the tappet mechanism as a whole handles more valve movements per working stroke than on engines with a single valve per port. Even load distribution across the tappets is therefore all the more important to avoid uneven wear between the valves.
A tappet that no longer rolls evenly against the cam usually first shows up as a subtly different valve-gear sound, well before measurable clearance develops. On an engine that switches between gas and diesel operation, stable valve action also directly affects the transition itself.
Toes Group supplies valve tappets for the Wärtsilä 34 for all configurations, new and reconditioned, checked on rolling behaviour and wear per tappet.
