Wärtsilä 34 Fuel pump
Product Description
At its core, the Wärtsilä 34 is a dual-fuel engine: it runs on gas with indirect injection or on liquid fuel with direct injection, and can switch between the two operating modes. In gas mode, the fuel pump doesn't inject a full charge but only a small pilot dose of MDF, which ignites the lean gas mixture in the cylinder.
This pilot injection works at its own, tightly bounded pressure at the engine inlet of roughly 550 to 750 kPa; in diesel mode, the pressure ahead of the injection pumps instead sits around 700 kPa. A pump that no longer keeps these two pressure regimes sharply separated undermines not just dosing accuracy but the reliability of the switch between gas and diesel operation itself.
Toes Group has fuel pumps for the Wärtsilä 34 available for the configurations 6L34, 8L34, 9L34, 12V34 and 16V34, new and reconditioned, with specific attention to the pilot-injection function during reconditioning and testing.
