Product Description
The multiduct on the Wärtsilä 34 is the interface between the cylinder head and the piping for charge air, exhaust gas and cooling water; on this dual-fuel version, the gas supply is added to that list. This design means the cylinder head can be lifted without disconnecting the gas, air or water piping, considerably simplifying maintenance.
Precisely because this component separates four different media at once, a leak here is harder to trace to a single obvious cause: a faint gas smell, a small drop in cooling water level, or an unusual charge air pressure reading can all point to the same underlying problem in the multiduct.
