Product specifications

Product Description

The Wärtsilä 34 runs on an HT and an LT cooling circuit, each requiring its own engine-driven pump: the HT circuit brings the water to roughly 85°C before the cylinders and takes it back out at around 96°C after the engine, while the LT circuit cools the charge air cooler and the lubricating oil.

In cold weather, the engine itself changes the flow order: both stages of the charge air cooler then run through the LT circuit, in the sequence charge air cooler, oil cooler, HT cooler, to keep the charge air temperature above the required 35°C even at low ambient temperatures. A pump that can't reach full capacity in that situation affects not just its own cooling task but the engine's entire temperature management.

Toes Group has cooling water pumps for both the HT and LT circuits of the Wärtsilä 34 available, new and reconditioned. Please state which circuit you need when ordering.
