Wärtsilä 34 Camshaft section
Product Description
The camshaft of the Wärtsilä 34 is built up in sections and driven from the crankshaft through a gear train; the camshaft bearing housings are cast into the engine block and are therefore closed, meaning fitting and removing the bearings requires dedicated hydraulic tooling.
With four valves to actuate per cylinder, each section carries more cam profiles than on a simpler valve configuration; a deviation on just one of those profiles can therefore affect two valve movements at once instead of one. Precise measurement of every cam profile is accordingly part of our standard inspection.
Toes Group supplies camshaft sections for the Wärtsilä 34 for all configurations, new and reconditioned, with inspection of cam profile and connecting flanges.
