Product Description
The pulse damper smooths out pressure fluctuations that occur in the piping system of the Wärtsilä 20, for example due to the pulsating nature of fuel injection. By damping these pressure peaks, the pulse damper protects piping, connections and measuring instrumentation against excessive loading and material fatigue.
A worn or leaking pulse damper can cause noticeable vibration in the piping and, over time, fatigue cracks in pipes or couplings that are not designed to handle them. Regular inspection of the damper is therefore more than a comfort feature: it protects the rest of the system.
