Product Description
The fuel pump delivers fuel at the correct, often high pressure to the injectors of the Wärtsilä 20, so that it is injected at the precise moment and in the exact quantity the combustion process requires. The pump therefore plays a major role in determining fuel consumption, power output and emissions.
Wear to the plunger, cam follower or seals leads to a declining or irregular injection pressure, which shows up as starting problems, smoke or loss of power. Because the fuel pump works to tight tolerances, precision inspection during reconditioning is essential to restore its original performance.
