Product Description
This version of the cylinder head is intended for Wärtsilä 20 engines with common-rail fuel injection. Because a common-rail system supplies fuel at a constant, high pressure and the injector meters it independently of engine speed, the CR cylinder head places higher demands on the precision of the injector mounting, sealing and cooling channels than the conventional version.
This precision pays off in cleaner, more efficient combustion with less smoke, but it also means that deviations in the head lead more quickly to leaks or irregular injection. A thorough inspection of the valve seats, injector housing and cooling water channels is therefore essential during reconditioning.
