Product Description
The DF cylinder head is designed for the dual-fuel version of the Wärtsilä 20 (W20DF), which can run on both gas and liquid fuel. In addition to the usual valve and cooling channels, this cylinder head contains the provisions for gas intake and mixing, allowing the engine to switch safely and efficiently between fuels.
The combination of gas and liquid fuel in a single cylinder head calls for extra precision in manufacturing and maintenance: gas seals and valve seats must remain reliable under all operating conditions, including when switching between operating modes. Careful inspection of these components is therefore even more important than on the standard cylinder head.
