Product Description
The centrifugal filter cleans the lubricating oil of the Wärtsilä 20 using centrifugal force: the oil is fed under pressure through a rotating drum, throwing heavy contaminants against the wall where they build up as a solid layer. This way, even the finest particles that would pass through a regular paper filter are captured.
Because this type of filter has no disposable element but is cleaned periodically, the mechanical condition of the rotor, bearings and nozzles determines its cleaning performance. A worn or contaminated centrifugal filter shortens the service life of the lubricating oil and increases the risk of wear elsewhere in the engine.
