Product Description
The multiduct distributes the air and exhaust gas flows between the cylinders, the turbocharger and the air cooler of the Wärtsilä 20. A properly sealing multiduct is essential for efficient gas exchange and therefore for the engine's efficiency and emissions.
Because the multiduct carries both hot exhaust gases and cooled intake air, the casting is exposed to large temperature differences that can eventually lead to cracking or deformation of the sealing surfaces. A leaking multiduct is often difficult to spot, but has a direct effect on the engine's power output and emissions.
