Product Description
The turning gear of the MaK M25 lets technicians rotate the crankshaft slowly and under control, via a strongly reduced gear ratio — for example to bring a piston or cylinder into the right position for maintenance, or to turn the engine over evenly after a long standstill before it is restarted.
A turning gear that no longer engages and disengages smoothly is a genuine safety risk: if it isn't fully disengaged before the engine is started, this can cause serious damage to both the turning gear itself and the drivetrain. Checking the engagement mechanism and the reduction gears is therefore essential at every reconditioning.
