Product Description
The engine block of the MaK M25 was developed as part of the long-stroke generation alongside the M20, M32 and M43, with high reliability and straightforward maintenance as guiding design principles. With a bore of 255 mm and a stroke of 400 mm, the M25 is recognisable by its relatively long stroke-to-bore ratio.
Unlike many comparable engines from other manufacturers, the M25 is supplied exclusively in in-line form, in the 6, 8 and 9-cylinder configurations; no V-version exists for this type. That means the block has to stay evenly aligned along its full length, without the extra stiffness a V-configuration would gain from a second bank of cylinders.
