Product Description
The powered valve on the MaK M25 is a valve actively driven by the engine itself — unlike a simple check or spring-loaded valve, it is opened and closed at the correct moment in the engine's operating cycle, for example within the starting or air system.
Because this valve's actuation is directly tied to the engine's operating state, wear or fouling in the drive mechanism can show up differently than on a passive valve: not as a gradual leak, but as a moment where the valve fails to open or close exactly on time. Functional testing is therefore at least as important as the usual checks for wear and sealing.
