Product Description
The crankshaft of the MaK M25 converts the piston motion into the rotating motion that drives the generator or propeller shaft, at a nominal speed of 720 or 750 rpm. As a forging, it has to absorb the high loads that come with this engine's long-stroke design.
Because the M25 is built exclusively in in-line form, with up to 9 cylinders on a single shaft, its crankshaft is correspondingly long; precision measurement of alignment and crank pin diameters along the full length is therefore even more important than on a shorter V-crankshaft with the same number of cylinders.
