Product Description
The lube oil pump of the MAN 21/31 supplies pressure and circulation of the lubricating oil to bearings, crankshaft, connecting rods and other moving parts. Because this engine's base frame also serves as the oil reservoir, the pump is directly responsible for supplying oil to almost every moving component from that single, shared reservoir.
Wear in the pump element usually shows up as a gradually declining oil pressure rather than a sudden fault; on an engine with up to 9 cylinders in line, maintaining a stable pressure along the full length of the crankshaft matters all the more.
