Product Description
The fuel pump of the MAN 21/31 provides direct injection of fuel per cylinder and is driven by its own camshaft, used solely for injection, on the service side of the engine. The pump has to dose precisely at the high combustion pressures characteristic of this engine.
Because injection and valve actuation run on two fully separate camshafts on this engine, a deviation in the fuel pump can be confined to the injection timing itself, without affecting valve actuation; that often makes targeted diagnosis of irregular combustion simpler.
