Product Description
The valve camshaft of the MAN 21/31, unlike the injection camshaft, is positioned on the exhaust side of the engine and mounted relatively high up on the engine frame. This shaft controls only the opening and closing of the inlet and exhaust valves.
Because this shaft is physically separate from the injection camshaft, a deviation in valve clearance or cam profile usually first shows up as a changed sound from the valve gear, without immediately affecting fuel injection.
