Product Description
The front-end gear case forms the housing around the gear train at the drive end of the MAN 16/24, where the crankshaft drives both camshafts via the idler gear. The case protects this drive from dirt and maintains the correct oil environment around the gears.
Because this case encloses the core of the engine's timing synchronisation, a properly sealed and undeformed front-end gear case is directly important for the reliability of both valve actuation and fuel injection; a leak here causes not only oil loss but can also introduce contamination at the gears.
