Product Description
The connecting rod of the MAN 16/24 links the piston to the crankshaft and, at the same time, carries cooling oil to the piston's cooling space: oil is fed in through a bore in the rod and drained through ducts positioned diametrically opposite the supply channels.
This combined role of force transmission and oil passage makes the connecting rod a critical component: alongside the usual checks for cracks and bearing bush dimensions, reconditioning also specifically verifies that the oil channels are free of blockage.
