Product Description
The yoke is the bridge piece fitted on every cylinder of the Wärtsilä 38 between the rocker arm and the two valves of the same type: two inlet or two exhaust valves that must open and close simultaneously and evenly under a single rocker arm movement. Without this yoke, one rocker arm could not actuate two valves at once.
Precisely because the yoke distributes force across two valve stems, an even contact face is essential: even slight uneven wear on the yoke means one valve opens a fraction earlier or further than the other, which over time leads to uneven valve-seat wear and leakage past one of the two valves.
