Product Description
The oil cooler cools the lubricating oil of the Wärtsilä 26 after it has flowed past the hot, moving parts of the engine. By keeping the oil within the correct temperature range, the lubricating film remains optimal and oxidation of the oil is slowed down.
Fouling or a leaking gasket in the oil cooler reduces cooling capacity and can even cause cooling water and lubricating oil to mix, which directly threatens the engine's lubrication. Periodic inspection and cleaning of the oil cooler is therefore important.
