Product Description
The cooling water pump circulates the cooling water through the cylinder block, cylinder heads and other heat exchangers of the Wärtsilä 26. A steady and sufficiently strong water flow is essential to keep the engine within its operating temperature and to prevent local overheating.
Wear to the shaft seal or impeller of the pump leads to declining cooling capacity or leakage, which is often only noticed once engine temperature has already started to rise. Timely inspection of the pump prevents a relatively small problem from growing into serious engine damage.
