Product Description
The coupling connects the crankshaft of the Wärtsilä 26 to the attached generator, propeller shaft or gearbox, transmitting the full delivered engine power. A flexible design absorbs minor misalignment and torsional vibration, preventing these from being transferred directly to the connected equipment.
Wear or cracking of the flexible elements in the coupling can lead to reduced vibration damping, uneven power transmission and, over time, damage to both the engine and the connected machinery. Regular inspection is therefore essential, especially on continuously running propulsion or generator installations.
