The fuel pump pedestal is the mounting component on which the fuel pump of the Wärtsilä 26 is fitted and precisely aligned relative to the camshaft. Correct positioning is essential for the proper timing and drive of the fuel pump.
Wear, play or deformation of the pedestal can lead to a deviating alignment of the fuel pump, resulting in irregular injection or accelerated wear of the drive. During reconditioning, the pedestal is therefore precisely checked for dimensional accuracy.
