Product Description
The fuel transfer pump brings fuel from the day tank or fuel system to the fuel pump of the Wärtsilä 26, at the low pressure required before the fuel is further pressurised for injection. This pump ensures a steady, air-free fuel supply to the injection system.
A reduced output from the transfer pump, for example due to wear or a leaking suction line, can lead to air pockets or too low a supply pressure, resulting in irregular injection or even complete failure of the fuel supply. Regular inspection of this pump prevents a relatively small component from bringing the engine to a standstill.
