Product Description
The crankshaft converts the up-and-down motion of the pistons, via the connecting rods, into the rotating motion that gives the engine its power. As a heavily forged and precisely machined component, the crankshaft is subject to high bending, torsional and bearing loads.
Alignment and surface quality of the crankpins determine the service life of the bearings and, in turn, of the entire engine: even minor deviations can eventually lead to vibration, bearing damage or a broken crankshaft. On the heavier V-configurations of the Wärtsilä 26 this is even more critical, due to the extra bank of cylinders and the larger number of crankpins.
Toes Group keeps crankshafts for the Wärtsilä 26 in stock for the configurations 6L26, 8L26, 9L26, 12V26, 16V26 and 18V26. Every crankshaft is checked and measured exactly in accordance with the engine manufacturer's specifications, and stored in a sturdy wooden crate in our warehouse while awaiting your order.
