Wärtsilä 26 Camshaft section
Product Description
The camshaft uses its lobes to control the exact timing at which the valves and fuel injection open and close. On the Wärtsilä 26, the camshaft is built up from several sections, which allows a worn or damaged part to be replaced individually without having to replace the entire shaft.
Wear to the cam surface, for example due to insufficient lubrication, directly affects valve timing and therefore combustion. Because a deviating cam profile often only becomes apparent through the engine's performance itself, precise measurement of the camshaft sections is essential during reconditioning.
Toes Group supplies camshaft sections for the Wärtsilä 26, new and reconditioned, for all common configurations. Every section is checked for dimensions and surface quality of the cams, so valve timing matches the factory specification exactly.
